Good morning,
Please see opportunity below from our partner agency KYOSA:
Professional Development Opportunity: Application now open for the 2024-2025 Kentucky Afterschool Ambassador Program – $1,000 stipend!
Founded by the Kentucky Out-of-School Alliance (KYOSA) in 2022, the goal of the Kentucky Afterschool Ambassador program is to empower up-and-coming leaders in the field of afterschool to confidently and effectively advocate for afterschool for all Kentucky youth.
Ambassadors are a select group of leaders who commit to a year of civic engagement to strengthen community awareness, support effective programs, and bring diverse partners to the table. They build relationships with state and local elected officials through in-person meetings, phone calls, emails, and social media.
Those selected for the program will receive training that will prepare them to conduct outreach with policymakers and other leaders and participate in events and activities to promote afterschool programs and the policies that make them possible.
Anyone with a passion for afterschool and interest in advocacy is encouraged to apply. Ambassadors will receive a $1,000 stipend for commitment to the program. Applications are due before midnight on Friday, June 28, 2024. Up to 12 individuals will be selected, with representation from all six U.S. Congressional Districts in Kentucky expected. Selection is limited to one person per organization.
Applicants are encouraged to make plans to attend an informational webinar (register here) on May 29th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. ET, where KYOSA will talk through the application process in more detail and answer questions attendees may have about the program.
